About Abigail
Hi! I'm Abigail Hunter, MSW, LCSW ( She/Her) a Life & Sensitivity Coach, Psychotherapist, Kundalini Meditation Teacher, and Sound & Energy Healer based in Austin, TX, where I live with my partner, cats, dog, and bearded dragon. I specializes in supporting adolescents and adults navigating neurodivergence, high sensitivity, emotional healing, and esteem-building. I offer a holding space to learn/remember a feeling of home rooted deeply within. I aim to support my clients in accessing calm presence whatever they are walking through.
Originally from Boston, I spent my formative years in the Northeast and earned my B.A. in Social Work and English from the University of Vermont in 2010 (and skiing a lot!), followed by my Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University in 2011. Over the years, I trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, working closely with individuals and families to support daily functioning and emotional resilience. Through this work, I recognized a need to address the energetic, somatic, nervous system, and spiritual dimensions of healing- beyond traditional talk or behavioral therapy.
My sessions are nurturing, down-to-earth, and infused with gentle humor and compassion. Clients often describe my presence as “like sitting with a weighted blanket: calming, grounding, and reassuring," and "deeply intuitive."
By learning self-management & regulation skills in Life & Sensitivity Coaching, clients feel empowered, confident, and more calm wherever they are and whatever they're facing. These sessions are particularly helpful for clients living with neurodivergence, axiety/depression, and C-PTSD/PTSD as the effects of the practices bring immediate relief.
My Approach:
Mindfulness & Meditation: I intuitively blends mindfulness, kundalini meditation, breathwork, movement, mantra, crystal therapy, and sound & energy healing to nurture the nervous system and spirit. The gong is a central focus of mine as a potent tool for healing, clearing, and deeply grounding effects.
Clinical skills: I embrace a holistic and intuitive, strengths-based & client focused approach that is collaborative and solution-focused. I have experience with CBT, DBT, mindfulness, EFT tapping, inner child & the inner-bonding process, motivational interviewing, play therapy, self-inquiry through writing & creativity.
Special focus: anxiety, depression, self-esteem building & identity, neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, OCD) & their families (stress management & resilience), attachment trauma & inner-bonding process, adoptees, CPTSD/PTSD, LGBTQIA+ support, teens, and life transitions.
